Abstract: This section examines the role of historical inquiry in sociological explanation from a Durkheimian perspective. History is presented not only as a tool of denaturalization but also as a means of identifying the social conditions underlying institutions and practices. Combined with social morphology, historical comparison supports causal explanation, conditional prediction, and critique, placing sociology within a form of modern historicism that avoids both teleology and relativism.
Keywords: Sociological Explanation; Denaturalisation; Prediction; Social Critique; Durkheim
Abstract: Questa sezione esamina il ruolo dell’indagine storica nella spiegazione sociologica in prospettiva durkheimiana.
