Abstract: This article reflects upon the sociological work of Paolo Jedlowski, into the frame of the recent Narrative Turn in Humanities. Jedlowski’s essays (such as Storie comuni. La narrazione nella vita quotidiana, and Memorie del futuro) are seminal points of humanistic research, questioning the issues of complexity and possibility, the nature of catastrophic narratives in contemporary culture, and suggesting a likely way out to the Rhetoric of Fear and Apocalypse.
Keywords: Paolo Jedlowski; Narrative Turn; Complexity; Possibility; Catastrophic Narratives.
