Abstract: This article addresses sociological critique from a Durkheimian-pragmatist perspective. The first part shows how the distinction between normal and pathological can ground an immanent critique, drawing on the case of homelessness assistance. The second, drawing on the case of police use of force, reconsiders the relation between critique and politics, arguing that sociology, as an expression of modern processes of distanciation, must foster adequate forms of reflexivity.
Keywords: Critique; Durkheim; Elias; Pragmatist Sociology; Reflexivity
Abstract: L’articolo affronta la critica sociologica in una prospettiva durkheimo-pragmatista.
